About Us
Middlefield Golf Course is a municipally owned 18-hole public course known for its scenic layout, approachable atmosphere, and commitment to community access. Designed by Gene Mason and built in 1991, the course meanders along the Row River and is surrounded by mature landscaping that highlights the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Since the City of Cottage Grove acquired the course in 2006, Middlefield has undergone steady improvements—including a full resurfacing of cart paths and regular facility upgrades. Following a major 2024 ice storm that damaged over 50% of the trees, the course bounced back with an aggressive cleanup and restoration plan, reopening within just a few months. The result is a more open, well-maintained, and playable course for golfers of all levels.

The shift from an executive layout to a full-length regulation course further solidified Middlefield’s status as a serious golfing destination, while still remaining affordable and accessible. A welcoming Pro Shop, reliable tee time scheduling, league play, and a well-stocked snack bar create an inviting and complete experience for residents and visitors alike.
Located just off I-5 at Exit 174, Middlefield is easily reachable from all directions. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing weekend round, seasonal league play, or a place to host your next tournament, Middlefield Golf Course offers great value and even greater views
